An I-course is a main campus course available to main campus students in an online format.
An Arizona Online course is a course that’s been co-developed with a faculty member and an Instructional Designer so that it can be offered in a fully online modality. These courses are for students enrolled in Arizona Online as part of their online-degree completion.
A location course is a course offered to students enrolled in University of Arizona locations in Chandler, Gilbert, Nogales, andYuma.

No. Main campus students cannot enroll in Arizona Online courses.
Main campus, Arizona Online campus, and location-based campuses are separate with varied degree offerings and different tuition rates. Students cannot be dual-enrolled. However, they can choose to switch campuses. Contact an academic advisor to learn more.
The Arizona Online Student Success team serves as student engagement specialists to enrolled students. The team provides a one-stop hub of information about academic planning, referrals to campus resources, help with career development and academic coaching on topics such as time management, study strategies and personal advocacy.
While most of the Arizona Online course offerings are directly associated to an existing Arizona Online degree program, we are always interested in diversifying our General Education course repertoire.
Overview information:
- AZO electives generally belong to a degree program.
- AZO courses typically run in 7-week sessions.
- A course being offered is either developed by UCATT or, if developed by an in-house instructional designer, reviewed by UCATT for quality assurance to ensure it meets AZO standards.
- If the course doesn't belong to a particular AZO program, it may be considered for offering AZO students if it is a high-enrolling gen ed course that has gone through the refresh process.
