Online Initiatives

Office of Online Initiatives
Diverse learners come from all sorts of backgrounds. But they bring with them the same desire: access to quality academics in a flexible, supportive and student-centered environment — one that allows them the freedom to balance school and life while achieving their goals.
At the University of Arizona, two entities make it their mission to provide students with this very thing: Arizona Online and the UA Global Campus.
Arizona Online and the UA Global Campus (UAGC) provide accessible education via fully online degree and certificate programs — though they differ in content and delivery — so that students can engage in higher learning no matter where they are.
That’s why the university merged Arizona Online and the UA Global Campus to form the Office of Online Initiatives, a single unit led by Dr. Gary Packard under which the two departments can demonstrate their shared commitment to high-quality, rigorous online education and help Arizona fulfill its commitment as a land-grant institution.
In-person classes aren’t for everyone. But thanks to the Office of Online Initiatives, U of A gives students the freedom to earn top-ranked degrees their way.
Global Campus
As a separate education institution from U of A, UAGC has its own academic programs and faculty, and provides a convenient online format, flexible class schedules and relevant degree and certificate programs taught by expert faculty — ideal for learners who don’t fit into the mold of a “typical college student.”
