Cari Burson
Cari Burson serves as the Assistant Director of Program Pathways at Arizona Online. Cari brings extensive experience in career and technical education, program development, and student services. Cari has consistently demonstrated a commitment to fostering innovative pathways that prepare all students for success in higher education and workforce development. As Assistant Director of Program Pathways, Cari will develop partnerships with K-12 schools, CTEDs, and Community Colleges to expand access to credit and non-credit University of Arizona pathways.
Cari has over 25 years of experience in education, spanning from K-12 to teaching graduate-level courses. Cari’s rich background includes experience as a teacher, school counselor, and district administrator, including ten years serving as a CTE Director for Southern Arizona school districts. Cari is an accomplished facilitator of professional development for college access professionals, collaborating with organizations such as Education Forward, the Arizona Department of Education, and the Arizona School Counseling Association. She holds a B.A. in Education, M.Ed. in Educational Psychology, M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, and an MBA. Outside of work, Cari enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
